I wanted my audio piece to feel very colloquial, just like a regular conversation would be. As a result, I added background noise of a restaurant/cafe environment so it sounded like it was being recorded in a public space. I chose to do this instead of recording in a cafe as it was easier to manipulate and balance the two sounds, so they could go together smoothly and that our voices were clear. To add on, I made sure the language in the script was informal so that it would sound casual, rather than sounding too scripted to keep the colloquialness aspect. I chose to use one main recording instead of recording the intro and outro separately as it felt more natural and I was happy with the final take I ended up using. I used chill, upbeat background music to fade in and out of my audio as I thought it worked well with the theme and rhythm of the conversation. I did think about putting it softly in the background throughout the whole piece, however, I found it distracting and that it made it hard to hear and focus on the discussion.
