INTRO
KEIRA: Hi, I’m Keira and welcome back to MyBlog! Today I’m joined by my friend Iman and we are going to talk about travelling, what it means to us and why we’re passionate about it. Iman and I actually went to the same highschool in the Middle East, which I think makes us quite similar in the sense that we always had to travel in order to see family as both of our families live in different countries around the globe. What do you think?

IMAN: Yeah, I agree. I also think that as we’re third culture kids that we see travelling in a different perspective to people that have lived in the same country for their whole life.
KEIRA: Yeah, I think we’re lucky that we see it as a necessity so we can keep in contact with and maintain our relationships with loved ones, whilst also getting to explore the world which is pretty cool. To me, travelling also allows my mind to grow and become more open, which enriches my knowledge of different cultures and communities.
IMAN: Yeah, I feel exactly the same, of course, it’s a good way to learn about the world and make connections with people, which is definitely a privilege that we get to do.
KEIRA: We are very fortunate that we’re in this position. But it’s also quite hard sometimes to live with, especially when you’re at an age where moving away from home, and having no one in the same city as you can be very overwhelming even for a fully grown adult, let alone a teenager.
IMAN: That’s so true, it was hard in the first few months living here alone, but we both got through it at least and as time goes on it gets better.
KEIRA: Yeah, thankfully you were here. Even so, I think our experiences living in a new place has made us better people overall, it’s taught us so much and I’m actually so much more confident than I was because of the need for independence to live here.
IMAN: Yes! Exactly, I literally couldn’t agree more.
